Sascha's Biography

I’m a Los Angeles native that started my life out as a dancer. Ballet was my first dance class (still my favorite), and my training led me to the Joffrey Ballet Summer when I was 12. Soon after, I started jazz classes and eventually became a young assistant to choreographer, Marguerite Derricks (Austin Powers, Showgirls).
At such a young age, I was lucky to be exposed to remarkable instructors in ballet with live piano accompaniment, jazz and hip-hop. This influence was the seed to my current appreciation of arts and music.

At 16, I decided to take a break from dance to explore University life. I studied Graphic Design and Animation at Woodbury University and graduated with a BS in Animation. Being around students of architecture, interior and fashion design taught me even more about art, design and creativity than just my own graphic design and animation studies. Those four years really helped build upon my artistic skills and discover hidden strengths that have really become priceless to me.

Dance though, was still a draw for me and during my last year in college, I entered a work-study program at Moro-Landis dance studio (now Millenium). This is where I discovered the incredible world of Salsa dancing! Becoming completely addicted to the music, culture and challenge of partner dancing, I immersed myself into the salsa community. I became a member of the two most renowned LA Salsa dance companies, Los Rumberos and Salsa Brava, which took me to all different parts of the world such as India, Japan, Germany, Puerto Rico, NY and more. Salsa also provided me the opportunity to teach, compete, choreograph, collaborate and become friends with some of the world’s best salsa dancers. It was then that I met Carolina Cerisola, never knowing that we would collaborate years later.

Although I loved the traveling and experiences that dance provided, I had the opportunity to work at MTV and became a Post Coordinator for 5 years on their hit reality shows, The Osbournes, Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, Carmen & Dave and more. Working Post at MTV refined my leadership, production and “pressure-cooker” skills that have really rounded out my adult professional life.

All these directions and experiences brought me to my current paths that satisfy all that I love and incorporating all that I’ve learned. I have my own business, REHABITAT, as a Professional Organizer, where I get to help others using my hands-on problem solving skills in streamlining their lives so they feel efficient and happy!
And to continue fulfilling myself with arts, dance and music, my business partner, Carolina Cerisola and I, have created THE FLOOR Improv Night (see home page bio).

And as FLOOR PRODUCTIONS we hope to create more events that promote live music, dance and the arts with the dream of making these things even more prominent in our culture and permanent in all school education.

Life is good!
